Visit Puglia in November for olive harvest
Posted on April 2, 2012
Every year in November, traditionally from the 15th of the month, the countryside of Puglia is busy with the harvesting of olives to be made into delicious olive oil. The days are generally still warm and sunny, the perfect weather for exploring the fascinating towns and pretty countryside of the Itria Valley.
Most of our villas have central heating and some offer open fires, and being November the need for a pool is exempt which means you’re paying less for accommodation. Pretty Trullo Forno is a lovely example of a renovated local stone cone house, it offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms with wonderful views and is just a short drive away from the hilltop town of Cisternino, all for just £700 per week.
For locally produced olive oil by one of Puglia Places’ holiday villas, Rustic Puglia, click here to buy delicious single estate, hand picked, stone ground, cold pressed, organic, extra virgin olive oil costs £10 per litre plus postage (£5.60 parcel post) or free postage for two or more litres.
