How to get to your holiday villa in Puglia

Ryanair is often the obvious choice with flights from Stansted to both Bari and Brindisi and new this year from Manchester to Brindisi twice a week.

But there are plenty of other options when planning the journey to your villa in Puglia. If Stansted isn’t convenient you can also get direct flights from Gatwick on Easyjet to Bari and Brindisi, and BA to Bari.

Flying into Naples gives lots more UK departure airport and airline options, it’s an easy drive across taking about three hours and is definitely worth considering for your holiday in Puglia. Equally, changing at Milan means that Alitalia is also an option from London City Airport and Heathrow.

For eco-minded holidaymakers the train is a fun idea. The excellent Seat 61 website gives comprehensive information on planning your route and booking tickets. Rail Europe is similar.

It’s a real shame that Motorail isn’t more widespread, but visitors to Puglia can load the car at s’Hertogenbosch in Holland and journey to Livorno in Italy. It isn’t a cheap option either but it does mean that you’re avoiding the cost of hiring a car.

Another way to avoid car hire costs is to drive all the way down here in your own car. It’s a straightforward drive and should be achievable in two days if you do two 12 hour stretches.

Enjoy your route planning!
